The inaugural SFJ Eat & Greet event takes place with Thunder.
Last night, The Sunflower Jam hosted an exclusive event at 28-50 Wine Workshop and Kitchen in London’s Mayfair for Thunder fans lucky enough to get their hands on a ticket. Coming from all over the country, the 35 lucky attendees were wined and dined in the exclusive venue and got the chance to chat with the band over dinner.
Guests were welcomed with a drinks reception which allowed them some time to break the ice before the band arrived. With glasses in hand, the group quickly warmed up…afterall, they’ve all definitely got one thing in common! The band arrived to cheers and claps from guests making sure they introduced themselves to all guests on all tables before sitting down to enjoy a meal that began with aubergines with with courgette, marinated peppers, lemon and creme fraiche. This was followed by a chose of either plaice or Onglet and finished up with tiramasu cheesecake with marscapone and praline. This was, of course, all washed down with lashings of wine and beer.
In between each course, the band mingled with all guests answering all their questions personally leaving no need at all for a whole room Q&A. Literally thousands of photos were taken and CDs, t-shirts and even bespoke designed Thunder shoes were signed!
The evening raised over £3,500 for The Sunflower Jam and that money will go to supporting our current projects – The Jon Lord Fellowship – and this year’s project which will be announced shortly.
The Sunflower Jam would like to thank everyone involved for making this such a great event. Everyone at 28-50 Wine Workshop and Kitchen, to the band – Danny, Chris, Ben, Luke and Harry – and, of course, to you the Jammers who put their hands in the pockets and make it the great night that it was.
