The Sunflower Jam is excited to announce that “Celebrating Jon Lord At The Royal Albert Hall” on April 4th 2014 will include performances by the Orion Orchestra – ‘the Orchestra of Rising Stars’ – and will be conducted by Paul Mann, a close friend and musical partner of Jon Lord.

It’s hard to believe that a whole year has passed since the death of Jon. In many ways the pain of losing him still feels so raw and so close but in other ways we breathe a little easier every day knowing that Jon has passed to a better place, free from the pain, the worry, the exhaustion and all the other terrible, terrible realities of cancer. And, while he may have passed, he remains here and close to us everyday.

Fundraising has to be at the heart of any charity, and this year we are working really hard to offer new and exciting ways for you to get involved. With this in mind, we have buddied up with the Thames Path Challenge and we are looking for ready and willing (and fit!) volunteers to sign up and raise some money for The Sunflower Jam.

The legendary Deep Purple anthem “Black Night” is being released by London’s very own rising stars, Monument as a special charity single on April 8th to raise funds for The Sunflower Jam Charity.

At last! We can finally announce some exciting details regarding the event we are organising in celebration of Jon Lord. We know it’s been a long time coming and we are so grateful for you patience but we are excited to be able to confirm that “Celebrating Jon Lord At The Royal Albert Hall” will take place on April 4th 2014 at, unsurprisingly, the Royal Albert Hall.
